Fifteen things that make a real difference to your score โ and a few that only look like they do.
Combos are worth more than catches. Ten clean catches in a row score far more than twenty catches interrupted by misses. If keeping the combo alive means letting one piece of candy fall, let it fall.
Beginners track candy from the moment it spawns, which splits attention across the whole screen. Better players watch mostly the lower third, where decisions actually matter. Candy near the top cannot hurt you yet.
The basket moves at a fixed speed. Small corrections made early beat large corrections made late. Start drifting toward the next candy as soon as you catch the current one โ do not wait until it is nearly at the floor.
When two pieces of candy are falling at once, always take the lower one first. The higher one will still be there. The lower one is about to be lost.
Bonus rounds begin with several items on screen at once, and most of them are decoys. Take a beat to identify the target colour and shape before you move. Rushing the first second is the most common way to fail a bonus round.
Decoys do not cost lives โ only your bonus progress. Once you accept that, bonus rounds become much easier, because you stop making panic moves toward items you should ignore.
A clean bonus round is a quick, controlled chain of catches. If your combo just broke, a bonus round is the easiest place to start a new one.
There is no penalty for letting a bomb fall past you. Remind yourself of this often โ the instinct to catch everything is the single biggest cause of unnecessary deaths.
When several bombs fall close together, decide immediately which side of the screen is safe and commit. Hesitating in the middle is how you catch one.
The shield absorbs one bomb. It is tempting to grab it early, but it is worth far more in a crowded round where a mistake is likely than in an easy one where you would not have made a mistake anyway.
A 10X multiplier with no combo multiplies very little. A 10X multiplier during a ten-catch combo multiplies a lot. Wait for the combo counter to be high before you commit to catching the multiplier.
This is not a trick โ it is the design. Most players score better in three short sessions than in one long one, simply because attention is sharper at the start. The game is built for short rounds on purpose.
If you lose two runs in a row early, take a break. Tired play is slow play, and slow play breaks combos.
Baskets are cosmetic only. Buying one because you think it will help is the most common way to waste coins. Buy the one you like the look of and spend the rest on nothing.
The game uses subtle audio cues for catches, misses and bombs. Playing with sound for a few rounds teaches you the rhythm faster than watching does. After that, play however you prefer โ sound off works fine.
The basket moves at a fixed speed. Fast, panicked movement overshoots and costs you the next catch. Smooth, deliberate movement is always better.
Chasing 100% catch rate breaks combos and walks you into bombs. Selective catching scores higher.
Bonus rounds pay coins, complete missions, and finish fast. There is no reason to avoid them.
Nothing here requires fast reflexes. It is all positioning and patience, which is exactly why the game is relaxing to play well.
